Help me celebrate my birthday

with a gift to Con Mi MADRE!

This is my 6th and final year to serve as a board member of Con Mi MADRE,  and I want to go out with a bang!

November 8th is election day, but it also marks my 47th birthday, and I’m asking my family and friends to please help me celebrate in a meaningful way. In addition to casting your vote, please help support an organization that is near and dear to my heart.

Con Mi MADRE in a nonprofit organization in Austin that empowers young Latinas and their mothers through education and support services that increase preparedness, participation, and success in post-secondary education. The name Con Mi MADRE—“with my mother”—reflects the unique element of our program, which requires the enrollment of both the mother and daughter to create a supportive college-going culture.

Thanks to generous support from donors, Con Mi MADRE has achieved tremendous success with our mother-daughters teams, including 100% high school graduation rate among our senior girls AND 77% enrollment into post-secondary education.

Annually, CMM serves 600-700 young Latinas who predominately come from low-income backgrounds and will be the first in their family to pursue post-secondary education. All services, from 6th grade to college graduation, are at no cost to participating families, and with your support, we can keep it that way!

The cost for one mother-daughter team to participate in Con Mi MADRE programs and support services for an entire year is $1,000.

My birthday wish is to raise $5,000 for Con Mi MADRE to sponsor 5 mother-daughter teams this year, and I need your help to get there!

Please join me in supporting Con Mi MADRE by making a $47 (or more!) donation and I’ll match your gift dollar for dollar until I reach my goal. Your gift will help a young girl achieve her dreams of a college education and career success – and help pave the way for future generations that follow her.

In my role as past chair of Con Mi MADRE, I see directly what an incredible difference our programs and services make in the lives of our young girls and their families. In a year when we’re seeing so much negativity and ugliness in the political arena, here’s an easy way to spread some love and positivity by supporting our future leaders!

Thanks so much for your support – and don’t forget to vote!

Sincerely,
